Emily Bosco is a Colombian-Italian actress, singer, and big-hearted human. A New Jersey native who was exposed to New York theater early and often, she spent much of her childhood standing in front of the TV to block it and forcing her family to listen to her sing Les Mis at the top of her lungs instead.
After a semi-world-famous turn as the Baker’s Wife in her high school’s Into the Woods (about which her mom raved “you were the best one”), she attended Boston University while performing in student productions there. After graduating, she suffered a vocal cord hemorrhage, from which she thankfully recovered with the help of two procedures and several dedicated speech therapists. After losing her voice for over a year, she vowed never to take it for granted again, and to use it to tell stories that mattered to her. She applied for graduate schools that winter, earned her MFA in Acting from UNC Chapel Hill in 2020, and has been performing around the country ever since!
When she isn’t performing, Emily devotes much of her time to being the world’s best Auntie to her niece and nephews, her family’s dogs, Taylor Swift, sour gummy worms, hot yoga, and reminding those around her how much of a babe Jeremy Irons was in the 80’s. Everything she has in life she owes to her beautiful family, both biological and chosen. In particular, she owes her love of acting largely to her grandfather Philip, an actor who showed her what endless love for one’s craft and one’s life looks like.
She’s tickled that you came to check out her site. Happy perusing!
